WWII US Army Carlisle First Aid Kit -
This is a US Army first aid Carlisle field kit. As issued to all soldiers in the Army during World War two.
The kit consisted of a sealed tin can with a abndage inside. A small tab is provided to one side. Rolling
the tab unto itself opens the container as it goes around the perimeter.
The kit was carried in a small pouch. the carrying pouches came in
khaki and
green colors.
The lid has a series of raised characters that read:
First aid packet US govt.
Carlisle model
to open pull tape
red color indicates back of dressing
put other side next to wound

The kit provided a basic bandage. It was intended to provide immediate care to a serious wound and buy
time until the soldier was taken to a place where proper medical care was available.
