1944 US Army First Aid Carlisle Pouch -
This is a US Army OD field gear first aid pouch. As issued during World War two. This is the pouch that every soldier would carry
into combat. It held the Carlisle bandage enclosed in a metal container.
Of canvis construction. a snap secured the main flap in the closed position. The back has a wire hanger which allows the pouch
to be secured to the utility belt. The back also has black ink stamps with the name of the manufacturer (JQMD) and the date of
production (1944).
In addition to the Carlisle kit. Other type of bandages
may have been carried in the pouch. Including those meant for bigger
first aid kits.
